Holly Jean: I Flew A Boeing 737!
Wednesday, 23 November 2011 @ 3:52 pm
Last week, fellow TuxSeeDo Fun Activist Mabel and I went for our first Flight Experience in the flight simulator. For someone like me who will probably NEVER get the opportunity to fly a real plane, this is truly as good as it gets. It was super fun, a real eye opener, and landing the plane on my own did make my heart thump!
But if you're an aspiring pilot, then learning and practicing in the simulator could save you loads of money before or while you're doing your pilots liscense. But whatever your skill level, or purpose, at least you know you'll be absolutely safe!
Of course when you Do It! , don't forget to get your TuxSeeDo points!!

TuxSeeDo Launch Event at Marina Bay

Last Saturday was TuxSeeDo's launch event at Marina Bay. It was a huge affair with 138 players vying for the top prize of the iPad2. I was impressed with the sporting spirit displayed by all players who ran around the Marina Bay area completing the activities on their TuxSeeDo iPhone app... despite the wet weather.
The main event arena at the Singapore Flyer was abuzz with people checking out the various booths set up by the Volunteer Welfare Organisations.
And players had to make a pit stop here to complete a couple of activities at the SCOOPS ice cream booth and PictureWorks booth too.I just adore the TuxSeeDo t-shirt. It's so cute.... just like the TuxSeeDo mascot (penguin).
For the Media, there was a nice reception at O'Learys Bar....

Danny Koh performed his magic tricks at the main arena as well as in Popeye's ! What a treat for everyone!
For the Media, there was a nice reception at O'Learys Bar....One of the more interesting tasks was when they had to go into the Flight Experience cockpit and take a pic with the captain! (By the way, I had my first flight experience flying lesson already !! And I will be updating you on that next week!)

At the end of the afternoon, the TuxSeeDo team tabulated the top players... and PowerPiggy won the iPad2! She completed all the activities on the TuxSeeDo App the fastest.
These are the top 5 players that day, taking their pic with Ming. What a fun day it was!
You can still download the TuxSeeDo app on your iPhone and complete the activities at Marina Bay (there are also activities in Orchard too)... it won't be a race, but you can still earn points and claim gifts from the gift store. DO IT!!

Yesterday, Fun activists Danny and I went down to Marina Bay to check out some of the activities listed on the TuxSeeDo iPhone app.If you don't already know.... TuxSeeDo's huge launch event on the 12th of November will start at the Greek Theatre at the Singapore Flyer and then fan out the whole of Marina Bay. Do join us for this even as there will be awesome prizes (including the iPad2 for the best player that day), freebies and fun things to See and Do for everyone! (Click here for event details and invites)
I've already used some of my points to redeem movie vouchers... so I'll be catching a movie for Free this weekend!
Our first stop was Popeye's at the Singapore Flyer to fuel up! Popeye's makes the yummiest chicken!! My favourite and Danny's too! Here are some of the activities we completed... plus there's going to be a whole lot more activities listed on the event day itself.
We also managed to find the Marina Bay City Gallery. That's Danny in the background snapping his shot and earning his points too!
Every time we complete an activity it gets automatically updated on the www.tuxseedo.com website. This is the A World United activity. You need to find this huge red donut like monument on Marina Bay. A World United monument actually has 26 different sports incorporated into the design. Cool. Never knew that.
Solar Fan @ the Promontory. These fans are solar powered.. and the breeze from it is damn shiok. We should have these solar fans line the whole of Orchard Road!
Keep yourself updated by liking the TuxSeeDo FB page as well. Don't forget to keep your afternoon on the 12th of November free for our launch event!

Fun Activist, Holly Jean in Singapore Flyer is Haunted
Saturday, 22 October 2011 @ 12:10 am
The whole place smelled of incense. I swear I saw a Pontianak pointing at me from behind a tree. But it's all in the name of fun! For the Halloween season it's a Fright Fest over there!
If you love to be spooked and jumping out of you skin gives you a thrill.. you should check out Fright Fest at the Singapore Flyer. This event runs from 28th to 30th Oct, 7.30pm to 10:30pm (refer to www.singaporeflyer.com for tickets and available time slots).
I had a media invite so I got to check it out before it's open to public. It was creepy!!! Outside the haunted area, it is bright and people are buzzing about as normal.
But once you step into the zone, you're dropped into a whole new world. You hear distant moanings, chantings, there's a stong smell of incense, offerings are being burnt, and all sort of ghouls are lurking in the bushes, just waiting for you.
I just love horror movies, especially Japanese and Thai ones... and I love the thrill of getting scared and screaming! Though not a lot scares me...
But there were many times at this Fright Fest where I jumped in fear and actually started running!
After getting out of the haunted area, my friends and I went to have a breather... in the Singapore Flyer capsule.
I've been on the Flyer quite a few times, but it's always a new experience because Singapore is so dynamic... the landscape is forever changing and developing.
Breath taking views.
My new friend Danny took a few minutes to entertain us with some magic tricks. He's a professional magician... I think you may remember him from One Moment of Glory. Now, he's a Funactivist for TuxSeeDo too!
If you're going down to check out Fright Fest at the Singapore Flyer on the 28th, 29th or 30th October... don't forget to Download the TuxSeeDo app (here) onto your iPhone. It's free. You can then log in and snap a pic of yourself with any "Ghost" from Fright Fest. You'll earn yourself 150 points! Check out what you can redeem at the TuxSeeDo Gift store - here.

TuxSeeDo is an app for the iPhone (coming to BB and Android soon too) which lists things for you to see and do in Singapore. If you do any of the things listed, snap a pic and submit it via the app. Each submission earns you points which you can redeem for gifts!
We're talking kickass gifts here... stuff like the iPhone, iPad2, movie vouchers... right now the app is in it's beta stage. It's new! Be one of the firsts! And you can be sure that there'll be even more fabulous gifts to come!
I love the mascot! So cute!! The app is user friendly... download it and try it out. Wherever you are, it will generate a list of things you can try out closeby. Right now, locations include various areas around town and Marina bay... but it's going to grow once launched!
It's a great app to have especially when you're just hanging out with friends and run out of ideas of what to do. It lists a whole range of things to see and do. I especially like to check out places to eat or drink at. So I can hang out with my friends, and then we can all earn mega points via that activity as well!
I was in Orchard recently and I completed a couple of very easy ones on the list - Candy In Heaven and Kids@Wisma .
Then I found the Candylicious wall in Taka. :) Just next door to Wisma.. so close...
I'm starting to rake in the points! :) I've already claimed my Shaw Movie voucher from the gift shop. It's only 10Points to claim it right now (for a limited period !).
I really want to save up my points for the iPad2 next!!! But I'm sure I'll probably find some other prize which will also catch my eye soon. Must get my BF to download this app so he can help me claim prizes too!!!
Like TuxSeeDo's Facebook Page for more fun things to See and Do in Singapore. Go download the app on your iphone asap and get in on the fun (plus be rewarded very well with gifts!).
TuxSeeDo - A Suit of Things To SEE and DO !
P/s- There's a huge TuxSeeDo launch event coming up on 12th of November. Registered players will compete to complete activities set out around the Marina Bay area within a 2 hour timeframe. The best player at the end of the 2 hours will win the grand prize of an iPad 2. All Participants can expect little gifts and vouchers from sponsors and partners at each stop over.
